A Journey to Motorable Beach:Mandarmani

Mandarmani is a beach resort in Purba Medinipur district of South Bengal , one of the southern districts of West Bengal . It is almost 180km from Kolkata Airport on the Kolkata – Digha route and just km from Chaulkhola .Mandarmani is one of Bengal’s recently developed tourist destination that lies close to ever-popular Digha and Shankarpur. With sun and surf, pristine sea beach and untrammelled silt coloured sand, this beach is slowly becoming popular among the tourists. Mandarmani boasts of a 13 km long motor-able beach, probably the longest motor-able beach road in India. On the beach you will undoubtedly get the chance to feel the divinity. If that is not enough to please your senses, then try to loll on the sand and listen to the waves crashing upon the shore, which will surely drive away your bustling pressure. The best resort to stay in is beach facing and most of the resorts are beach facing.It is the place were we can go round the year.The best time to go to the beach is wake up early morning see the sunrise..the winds blowing in front of your face..the sound of waves and the fishermen with boats…go and hit the ocean after experiencing this.. To add the extra element to the beach is water sports and you have a wide range..from jet ski, para sailing, banana boat ride…and speed boat with a feel of bump…the best part was when you are on a speed boat just go in the middle of the ocean and stop the boat..and do not say a word…it will be the greatest peace in the world that you will experience..even the 10 minutes stoppage will look too long…and you will never want that moment to stop…you will definitely say in your mind..we are in between the sky..above and beneath.. The beach does not provide food…except the classic…daab ka pani or the coconut water…a must have on the beach.. This place is not yet supported with electricity…mostly all the hotels run on generators…so the beach is almost dark at night..only the dim lights of the hotels can bee seen…At night it is the best to have dinner and sit on the lawn of the hotel..to feel the cool breeze..and the sound of the ocean..its pure meditation..as the beach is completely dark.. The loneliness – It’s just you and the beach, not a second person to disturb you…birds dot the sky and little waves wash the very calm, clean beach, as a few fishermen do their daily duty noiselessly…

Peace is seeing a sunset….you don’t even want to blink..and miss that nano second of the view…

This is what we want every day of life…pleasing view to make our eyes wider…

This is the picture where you get confused…and ask yourself.. should I look up or should I look down…

Let the tide wash your worry away…so what to wait for…take off the shoes and get ready to drench…

The coming waves…kissing the back flow…and the sunset that make the water shine… making it picture perfect…

We can say this as a watermark of this “Motor-able Beach”…can see this tyre stamp through out the beach…well nothing wrong about that..it is living up to the name it is called ….

There is a saying…”The cure for anything is salt water…sweat,tears or the sea…”and it dose refresh you up..

A snail moving slowly and steadily… making a new path…and leaving the past behind….Its tough to even notice that it is moving…the path on the sand makes you realise that..

Normally it shines bright….but this time its playing hide and seek with the clouds…

A sea beach is incomplete without this….its looks as if its an average size but as we go nearer and nearer…and reach it..that is when we realise its heavy n huge…and realisation of the difficulties faced by the fishermen flashes in front of our minds…hats off to them to risk everything…

Eating time right on the shore…specially crabs…sometimes can see vultures and eagles too…

Its one of the restricted areas…it comes under danger zone..because of the population of red crabs and their hole homes…watch your foot guys…

A  boundary of logs…overlooking the trees…to separate the danger zone of red crabs from the other parts of the beach..love the way of the division…

This is the look of the beach when there when there is no hotels built on it…it is a green carpet to see around…a rare site in cities and towns…

We can find transformation of trees into unusual shapes…this one specially is tangled into one another…forming a natural heart shape in the middle…

Don’t have a car or a bike…no need to worry we should go local…wooden planks on top of tyres with motor to run…its fun to leave the luxury behind and try new things…

The dance of the palm trees…the ocean acoustics…the rays of the sun…and you know it feels like heaven..

Even without its leaves it looks wonderful….

Other than flora you can also see fauna…rabbits and guinea pigs..cute and adorable kept in cage..but freed in morning and evening…want to touch it..we can..but careful to soft to handle…

Want to have a top view…this is what you want to get that view….para sailing….feel light and enjoy the breeze and beautiful ocean view…

Looks like a banana …yes it is…it’s a banana boat ride…this is a fun ride ….get ready to go upside down in d middle of the ocean…no need to worry with life jackets on…

Don’t know how to ride a jet ski…not a problem a helper is always there so that we cannot miss it..….so go have a bumpy ride…

Sometimes we just have to go with the waves…and see life through the shine of the sun…

This is the view when the sun goes down…dim lights all through out.. pleasing to eyes,mind and soul…with the background score of ocean waves and a feel of cool breeze….sit quietly and enjoy..
